About the role

In this role you are responsible for the full sales cycle: sourcing new logos, pitching decision-makers, closing deals, and making sure existing customers stay delighted. You'll develop unique and innovative sales plays that scale, drive pipeline, and help shape and grow OPTIMAZE's market presence. This is a hands-on sales role where you'll own both pipeline generation and deal closure. You will report directly to the co-founder and join a world class team of technologists.

Responsibilities

End to end sales: Source, pitch and close net new prospects. This includes outbound prospecting through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, and creative acquisition channels. Manage stakeholders effectively and get in front of as many qualified prospects as you can.

Event representation: Events are an important avenue to meet new prospects and introduce OPTIMAZE's mission. You - at times autonomously - represent OPTIMAZE at industry conferences and networking events.

Manage pipeline and forecasting: You are responsible for effectively managing your pipeline and forecasting deals accurately. You'll work closely with leadership on revenue planning and growth strategy.

Customer relationship management: You ensure prospects and early customers have an exceptional experience. Capture feedback like feature requests and pain points early to inform product development, open up expansion opportunities, and build long-term partnerships.

Effective communicator: You thrive on speaking to new customers, genuinely learning about specific customer nuances, and you translate those into meaningful customer value. You can navigate technical conversations with engineers and business conversations with C-suite executives.

Customer-Oriented Mindset: You are driven to understand the "why" behind the product, and are focused on delivering tangible value to end-users. You can translate customer needs into technical solutions.

Honest: You are comfortable saying "I don't know". You never misrepresent the company or yourself and people see you as a trusted partner.

Experience Level: You have a demonstrated track record of sales success with 3+ years of experience at a successful technology startup, FinOps business, or cloud provider. We'll also consider candidates with less experience who demonstrate exceptional performance and strong domain expertise.

Cloud Platforms: Working directly with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), especially understanding their billing models and cost structures.

AI/ML Concepts: Practical experience or strong conceptual understanding of machine learning, large language models (LLMs), or agentic AI systems.

Relevant Domains: Deep understanding of FinOps principles and awareness of the practical challenges enterprises face in areas like cost visibility, accurate allocation, forecasting, optimisation, and fostering a cost-conscious engineering culture.

Existing network: You have a strong existing network that you can pitch OPTIMAZE to, get introductions from, or set up strategic partnerships with.
